So & So’s Food Concept

Brand creation, photography, copywriting, organization, and content

So & So’s MN Street Food is Sociable Cider Werks in-house food program. In the winter of 2023, I prepared and presented a proposal for the business to take sole proprietorship of the food trailer & fully integrate the taproom + food program to form a more cohesive guest experience and increase efficiencies. My proposal was approved and a mere four months later— I had spearheaded & successfully integrated a new arm of business in conjunction with the taproom.

Adding an additional operating department to the company’s largest arm of business was no small undertaking. With the assistance of a trusted industry partner, we successfully interviewed and screened numerous candidates to find the perfect lead for our future kitchen.

We set a launch date for our 10th anniversary weekend (an ambitious goal for starting a kitchen from scratch!) and hit the ground running. During this time, I was able to showcase my strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines as I single handedly planned Sociable’s largest event since 2018 (the 10 year anniversary event) and launched a food program simultaneously. It was a hectic few weeks— but the fact that I cared deeply about the projects I was managing made immensly fun. I’ve always loved the thrill of collaborating on physical projects— that feeling when you see it all come to fruition is enough to get me choked up as I write this.

In the weeks leading up to launch, I collaborated with our chef to:

  • Hire and onboard a stellar kitchen staff who improves the overall cohesion of our teams & is passionate about the mission

  • Created and shared various creative assets (videos, newsletters, photos) to build the hype leading up to launch

  • Created a name, slogan, and logo for the new business

  • Organized a full overhaul of the kitchen space — cleaning, painting, ordering new supplies within a budget

  • Create, test, and finalize a food menu

    • Create an aesthetically pleasing physical menu

    • Build an online menu using Square Online

    • Create, order, and utilize QR code ordering to increase order volume

  • Organize all of the above and be ready to launch two days before the set deadline

The week of the launch, I invited everyone I knew to come by and try the menu. It was an indescribable feeling to glance around the patio and see individuals excited about the food, to see friends and families sharing meals together, and to see the logo I designed plastered on the trailer.

Two months after the launch, Eater published a “Top 10 Hottest Restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul right now” and So & So’s was among those mentioned.
